  • Medical aesthetician and laser technician Corie Nunes has joined the staff of King Aesthetics, a skin-care treatment practice at 3180 State St., Medford.
    Nunes graduated from Oregon Institute of Aesthetics in May 2010, becoming a certified aesthetician. She then completed a Didactic Medical Aesthetics Laser Technician program at the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, Ariz. Nunes is experienced in performing chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, cellulite reduction and intense pulsed-light procedures.

    Ron Goss has been appointed director of the Rogue Community College Small Business Development Center.
    Since joining the SBDC in 2009, Goss has been managing the Small Business Management program. He has 25 years of corporate information management experience with energy-related companies. During the past four years, Goss has helped more than 100 businesses grow and strengthen operations through updated best-business practices and management techniques.
    Goss earned a degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.

    Mario La Prova now is coordinator for Consumer Credit Counseling Services' AARP Money Management Program. La Prova relocated from Rhode Island in 1999, where he owned a CPA practice for more than 20 years.
    He has been finance director for St. Mary's Foundation and has volunteered as vice president of finance for St. Vincent De Paul since 2008. The AARP Money Management Program recruits volunteers to help low-income seniors and the disabled with in-home, money-management assistance.

    Lyle McCaw, an American Family Insurance agent, has earned American Star Excellence recognition in customer experience certification for the sixth time. McCaw has been an agent for American Family since December 1999. His office is at 1005 N. Riverside Ave., Suite 200, Medford.
    Only agencies that perform in the top 20 percent of all insurance agencies nationwide, based on customer-satisfaction surveys, are eligible to become American Star Excellence certified.

    Fred Willms has been voted treasurer of the Southern Oregon Public Television Board. Before entering retirement, Willms was in senior positions with Capitol Records in Hollywood, Calif., for 20 years, including vice president of business development, president of Screen Gems-EMI Music Division, and member of the Capitol EMI board. He also spent 10 years with Broadcast Music Inc. in New York as vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Moving to Nashville, Tenn., his BMI responsibilities included administration, information technologies and operations.
    A resident at Rogue Valley Manor since 1999, Willms has been Residents Council vice president, and president and chairman of the Residents Finance Committee.
    He recently was named a member of the reconstituted Rogue Valley Manor Board.

    Washington Federal has named Julia Beattie vice president and Southern Oregon Business Banking Region manager.
    Beattie previously was vice president and commercial lending officer at South Valley Bank & Trust for more than nine years.
    She is the former chief financial officer of a helicopter-operating company in San Jose, Calif., and was a lending officer with Western Bank for nearly 10 years. She is a Central Point Rotary Club member, Gordon Elwood Foundation Board and Grant Committee member, and Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church administrative council member.
    Beattie earned her undergraduate degree in economics and finance from Baylor University and holds a master's in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas.
    Washington Federal also named Michelle Clary manager of its Hillcrest branch in Medford.
    Clary is an Ashland resident with more than 14 years of banking experience. Clary previously served as a business development specialist with South Valley Bank & Trust. She is a member of the board of Junior Achievement, Southern Oregon. She attended Lane Community College.

    The Oregon Primary Care Association recognized Lisa Hendricks and Ginger Scott of Community Health Center at its annual Health Center Leadership awards program. The organization honors Oregonians who contribute to the success of the state's network of community health centers.
    Hendricks is chief operating officer at Community Health Center. Scott is the director of nursing. They received a Leadership in Transformation award for their work in transforming the health center into a patient-centered primary care home. They have used data to improve patient care, trained staff in patient-centered communication, and engaged front-line staff as key change agents.
    Scott began her career with Community Health Center in 2000 as clinic manager for the newly opened site in White City. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University. Hendricks has worked at Community Health Center since 1989 and holds a doctorate in health administration from the University of Phoenix and a master's in management and Bachelor of Science in business from Southern Oregon University.
