Gutches has record day at Speedway

WHITE CITY — Kelly Gutches recorded his 148th dwarf car victory, the most in the nation, on Saturday at the Southern Oregon Speedway.

Along with his win in the main event, Gutches captured the trophy dash in the dwarf cars. In the same event, Josh King broke the track record for the fastest lap in 15.595 seconds.

Bob Burkett also set a new standard at the track with a record 18.197-second lap in the mini stocks and won the trophy dash. He came second to Toby Judd in the main event.

Also claiming victories were Mike Medel (B-modfieds), John Barger (super 4) and David Hibbard (sprint cars).
