Aric Alcantara, Cascade Christian boys track and field
The senior was part of four titles at the District 1 regional, winning the triple jump (42-11) and long jump (21-0) and running legs on the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Emily Carlson, North Medford girls track and field
The senior came within a quarter of an inch of breaking the school record in the long jump, winning the Southwest Conference district crown with a leap of 17-6 3 / 4.
Hanna Greenberg-Vika O’Brien, Ashland girls tennis
The Grizzly junior and sophomore, respectively, won their second straight state title, 6-1, 6-2, to cap a perfect season with a 21-0 record. They led the Grizzlies to the team crown.
Carmen Mejia, South Medford girls track and field
The senior set a district meet and school record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.28 at the Southwest Conference championships. It was only the fourth time she’d run the event.
