The Jackson County Master Gardener Association will hold two classes for interested gardeners about mushroom cultivation and Huglekulture at the Oregon State University Extension Auditorium, 569 Hanley Road in Central Point.
A hands-on mushroom cultivation workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, by mycologist Eric Cerecedes and will include hands-on mushroom cultivation. Participants will cover topics such as classes of mushrooms, nutritional values and growing methods. Participants also will receive an oyster mushroom grow-back valued at $25. Pre-registration is required as there is a limit of 50 participants. Cost of the class is $25.
The Huglekulture class will teach participants about the ancient form of raised bed gardening known as Huglekulture. The class will be taught by Greg Marchesse from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and will include hands-on experience. Pre-registration is required, as there is a limit of 30 participants. Cost of the class is $10.

Families and friends of loved ones buried in Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery will receive assistance in locating those gravestones from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27.
The Friends of Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery will also be able to answer questions about the historic site, along with work the group is doing there. On Saturday, flags will be placed on the graves of all veterans buried there.
