  • SALEM — Marion County authorities say four relatives and another man were arrested after sheriff's deputies asked whether they needed a hand with their vehicle.
As two people gave conflicting stories, deputies noticed a man trying to hide under a blanket. Then two people approached carrying items that investigators later determined were stolen from a nearby home.
The Statesman Journal newspaper reports that 34-year-old Christina Desanto of Salem was arrested Monday with her 15-year-old daughter and two adult stepchildren — Crystal and Richard Lee Butts. Also arrested was Zachary Short, 20.
