Wine of the Week: 2010 Del Rio Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

2010 Del Rio Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

Vineyard: Del Rio Vineyards in Gold Hill

Winemaker: Jean-Michel Jussiaume

Recognition: 90 points from Wine Spectator

Price: $28

Case production: 700

What it goes with: Steak or dishes with heavy butter cream sauce, cheese (cheddar, mozzarella and brie), bitter dark chocolate

Tasting notes: This full-bodied cabernet sauvignon has tasty and complex tannins, woody aromas of vanilla and cedar, followed by hints of strawberry jam and prunes. It was aged in oak barrels for 10 months and shaped to be cellared through 2017. Sold out at Del Rio's tasting room, Jacksonville Inn sells it by the glass.
