Hunt is on for woman who robbed Bank of America in Medford on Wednesday

Medford police continue to look for a woman suspected of robbing the Bank of America branch at 790 Stevens St. in Medford Wednesday afternoon.

Surveillance footage from the bank shows a woman waiting in line, then approaching a teller at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday with a note demanding money and indicating that she was armed. No weapon was seen, police said.

The woman fled with an undisclosed amount of money that she stuffed into a white, plastic grocery bag. Authorities are not sure which direction she went after leaving the bank, which closed after the robbery.

The robber is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and dark hair, and she appeared to be 40 to 50 years old. She wore a maroon-colored baseball cap with the number 99 on it and a black-and-maroon jacket with white piping. She has a tattoo on the left side of her neck.

"If she's been arrested before, we will have documentation of the tattoo and may be able to locate her," said Budreau. Police ask anyone with information to call 541-774-2250.
