A missing man's truck has been recovered almost a year after he first disappeared.
Medford police have confirmed that the 1971 GMC pickup belonging to Chase Cook, 22, of Ashland, has been located on a large property in Williams. Cook was last seen on June 23, 2012, at a Minute Market on East Main Street in Medford. Days later his truck was spotted along Highway 238 near Provolt, where it sat for several days before it disappeared.
According to Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau, the truck recently was found on a property with lots of acreage in William. It had been repainted and parted out.
"We believe the truck was stolen, but we have not been able to determine where the vehicle was stolen from," Budreau said.
Jackson County Sheriff's Department search team and other investigators plan to search areas they believe are related to the case for more clues. The investigation is continuing.
