Corey Wynant popped out to the catcher with the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second in the bottom of the 11th as the Bellingham Bells held off the Medford Rogues 2-1 Friday at Harry & David Field.
After Nate Anderson's two-out RBI single with the bases loaded gave the Bells the lead in the top of the 11th, the Rogues put two on with nobody out in the bottom of the inning on an infield error and a walk. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third with one out, but Bellingham relief pitcher Marc Huberman struck out Matt Page and Michael Rucker induced Wynant's pop out to clinch the game and the three-game series for the visitors.
Four Bellingham pitchers combined to hold Medford (1-2) to three hits with 14 strike outs. Aaron Sandefur picked up the win after striking out 10 and allowing only one hit in four innings of relief.
Medford starter Mac Acker held Bellingham (2-1) hitless in five innings before leaving with a 1-0 lead. Ashland High alum Christian Morrison held Bellingham to two hits over the next four innings.
A single by Page brought home Quentin Urban with one out in the first for the Rogues' only score.
