  • FOX Sports radio takes a back seat for Cruise

  • I was driving around town Friday and when I tuned in the FOX Sports station on AM 730, they were playing oldies. Does that mean the end of FOX sports here? Are we exchanging surfing music for the 49ers?

Well, Trevor, it appears you caught the opening salvo for for the Medford Cruise.
KEZX-AM, owned by Opus Broadcasting, was indeed playing the Beach Boys, Beatles, Bobby Day and The Association for a few hours to greet all the hot-rodders rolling into town.
We talked with none other than programming director "Scuba Steve," who said the station detours into the oldies zone annually from noon to 6 p.m. in honor of the Medford Cruise.
"We've been promoting it for at least a month," the programming director said.
Rest assured, however, FOX sports programming isn't going away. Plus, those 49er and Trailblazer broadcasts are hot tickets.
