  • Vincent N. Lobdell passed away June 7, 2013. He was 99 years old and was born December 22, 1913 in Waterloo, Iowa.
    Vincent worked at the Lobdell Hatchery in Waterloo, Iowa until 1952. Vincent served as mayor of Castle Hill, Iowa from 1949 to December 1952 when the family moved to Medford, Ore. where Vincent was the general manager at Hart's Hatchery. In 1962, Vincent became an assessor for Jackson County, Oregon until his retirement in 1980.
    Vincent remained active in the Medford Senior Center and the Elks Lodge, earning a life membership. He was active in the North Medford Lions Club for many years and was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Vince participated in several bowling leagues and continued to bowl until he was 93.
    Vincent is survived by his wife, Violet, of Medford; his sister, Lula (Lobdell) Shimp Macdonald, of Waterloo, Iowa; two daughters, Jacqueline Helm-Mueller and Judith Free, of Mesa, Ariz.; son, Ralph, of Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
