  • Jackson and Josephine counties will team up to form a more effective response during major emergencies.
The Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved a proposed five-year agreement between teams of volunteers known as medical reserve corps. Agreement supporters say the corps will be able to respond better to incidents such as earthquakes and pandemic disease outbreaks.
"The agreement will also provide more outreach opportunities by serving both counties," the board proposal reads.
The agreement means a $1,000 annual expense to Jackson County.
