Mavericks cruise to a nonleague sweep

KLAMATH FALLS — Josh Berman pitched a one-hit shutout in the nightcap and the North Medford Mavericks posted a pair of five-inning victories against Henley, 17-2 and 15-0, in an American Legion A nonleague doubleheader Tuesday.

Berman (2-0) struck out 12 and walked two in the second game. Henley's only hit came on a fourth-inning swinging bunt. Berman also rapped four hits and collected seven RBIs in the twin bill.

In the opener, Honus Kindriech and Colton Westfall had three hits and three RBIs each. Jordan Ragan and Ryan Sutton both added a pair of hits and combined for five runs.

Brett Pearson went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs to pace North Medford's 12-hit attack in the second game. Ragan also had two hits for the Mavericks (7-1).
