  • Ashland City Band is back in the Butler Band Shell at Lithia Park on Thursday nights.
Pack a picnic, spread a blanket on the grass and listen to great band music directed by Don Bieghler. The 70-member band starts playing at 7 p.m., but if you get there by 6:15 p.m., you can hear some Dixieland music, too.
The band is starting off the season with “Tango Americano” by Henry Mancini, “Gypsy Dance” from Bizet’s “Carmen,” hits of the 1920s arranged by Marty Gold and Sousa’s “El Capitan,” among others. It’s all free.
