A burglar broke into a Medford garage and stole about $3,500 worth of exotic reptiles, including a 4-foot white python and two lizards.

A burglar broke into a Medford garage and stole about $3,500 worth of exotic reptiles, including a 4-foot white python and two lizards.

The break-in was reported at 11:44 p.m. in the 1900 block of Orchard Home Drive, Medford police reported in a news release today.

The 30-year-old man who owned the reptiles told police that someone apparently had cut a lock on his garage, then gone in to steal his pets. Burglars stole an ivory ball python, worth about $1,500, and two Mexican beaded lizards with black and yellow spots. Each lizard is estimated an 18 inches long and is worth about $1,000. No other items were taken.
