  • New to Third Friday art walk, The Grand View Fine Arts Society will kick off its summer exhibition at 5 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Central Art Studio, 101 N. Central Ave.
    A reception with wine and food by local vendors will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. during the art walk. The exhibit, which runs through Saturday, June 22, will feature oil paintings by 20 local society members. Works include landscapes, still lifes, figures, animals and more.     Art du Jour celebrates the arrival of summer with two new exhibits — "Bits and Pieces of Summer" on the featured wall and "It's a Jungle Out There" in the Salon. The latter exhibit features animal-themed paintings by Margo Garnett, Gayle Gray, Georganna Happel, Ruth Heath, Judy Hubler, Susie Lee, Barrie Smeeth, Dick Woods and guest artist Sandy Cathcart, as well as ceramics by Yvonne Kitchen.

    Friday will be the last day of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center's "Glass Act" exhibit. The show features works by four local artists, including bright, kiln-formed vessels by Evie Ault; abstract, stained glass by Darla Baack; landscapes made from layers of glass by Mike Korpa; and blown-glass sculptures by Randall Perkins.

    Medford band The Syndicate will present pop, R&B, soul and smooth jazz from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Vogel Plaza. Northwest Outdoor Store will have a display of tents, boats and recreational gear in the plaza.
    Parking in downtown Medford and in the parking structure on Sixth Street is free after 5 p.m. weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday, and this weekend only, the All Aboard Trolley will be available to transport folks up and down Main Street during the art walk.
