    Boy Scout Troop 7 will serve up pancakes, sausage and all the trimmings from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the Central Point Grange, at the corner of Pine and Fifth streets in Central Point.
    The event is hosted by Boy Scout Troop 7. Start the day with a fresh hot breakfast and a silent auction, then get to the parade.
    Runners can get moving at a 5K race that starts at 7:30 a.m. on East Pine Street between Third and Fourth streets. Preregister for $15 online at www.active.com/5k-race/central-point-or/4th-of-july-run-4-freedom-5k-and-kids-run-2013 or by calling the Central Point Parks and Recreation Department at 541-664-3321 ext. 232, or register at the race for $20. A free kids' fun run follows at 8:45 a.m. for ages 5 through 12.
    Pre-parade fun starts at 9 a.m. with chalk art in the streets and bubbles. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at Crater High School, with floats, flags and more making their way down Second Street to Pine Street and on to Eighth Street.
    After the parade, Pfaff Park on Manzanita Street will host food and craft booths, children's activities and local bands.
    Fireworks go off at The Expo at sundown.
