  • The tournament committee along with the Rogue Valley Basketball Official's Association would like to thank all of the sponsors, players and volunteers who helped make the inaugural Rogue Valley Summer Swing Golf Tournament a huge success.
The association created the event to raise funds for middle school athletic scholarships in an effort to ensure all students a chance of participating in after-school sports regardless of pay-to-play costs. The monies raised will augment what schools already have in place for these situations, as well as any other needs to keep student athletes safe and supervised during after-school hours.
The middle schools that will benefit from this event are those that the RVBOA services: Ashland, Butte Falls, Eagle Point, Grace Christian, Hanby, Harvest Baptist, Hedrick, McLoughlin, Ruch, Rogue Valley Adventist, Sacred Heart, Scenic, Shady Cove, St. Mary's, Talent and White Mountain.
Also, a special thank you goes to the committee, which put in a tremendous amount of time over the past year to pull this together: Cindy Hudnall, Leah Stelle, Bryan Schlafke, John Robinson, Gary Hudnall, Doug Strahm, Carl Chambers and Griff Berg.
Plans are already in the works for the second annual! — Vern Loy, committee chair
