  • The Oregon State Police is searching for the driver of a truck pulling a semi-trailer that apparently was involved in an early Thursday morning hit and run crash that critically injured a man along Interstate 5 south of Roseburg.
According to the OSP, between 2 and 3 a.m. Thursday, a male pedestrian was walking on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 5 near milepost 116. Police said evidence at the scene indicates a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer struck the pedestrian and then the center concrete barrier before continuing southbound without remaining at the scene.
An OSP release said the commercial truck may have fresh damage to the driver side left front corner and/or side. There is no confirmed color or other description.
The injured man, believed to be a transient, was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg and then transferred by air ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield. The man had no identification and OSP said it was still trying to identify him.
Anyone with information to help identify the involved vehicle and driver is asked to contact OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at 800-442-2068.
