A 31-year-old Central Point motorcyclist died Saturday in a crash on Highway 99.
Oregon State Police did not provide the man's name, as the agency was notifying the man's family of his death.
The crash occurred at around 4:50 p.m. in the intersection of Highway 99 and Scenic Avenue in north Central Point.
According to OSP David Beck, the victim was riding his Yamaha R6 motorcycle south on Scenic Avenue at a high rate of speed when it went through a stop sign.
The motorcycle then crashed into the side of a horse trailer being pulled by a pickup that was driving south on Highway 99. The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and then struck by a tractor-trailer that was driving behind the pickup pulling the horse trailer, Beck said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, OSP said.
The southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for more than an hour as OSP investigated the accident.
Southbound traffic backed up for close to a mile as investigators reconstructed the crash.
