  • The Ashland Boy Scout Troop No. 112 will hold a U.S. flag retirement ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Lithia Park, just above the Ashland Parks & Recreation Department offices at the lower fire ring.

  • The Ashland Boy Scout Troop No. 112 will hold a U.S. flag retirement ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Lithia Park, just above the Ashland Parks & Recreation Department offices at the lower fire ring.
    The ceremony is open to the public. Attendees should park at the Cotton Memorial area or near the Parks & Recreation building.
    The ceremony abides by the U.S. Flag Code, which states, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."
