Gary Bro Mumblo, 74, of the Applegate Valley passed away June 6, 2013 at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Bro was born September 5, 1938 in Middlebury, Vt. to William Cady Mumblo and Pauline Harriet (Merrill) Mumblo but spent most of his younger days in Franklin, N.H.. His father died when he was very young so he found father figures in coaches. Some of his fondest memories were playing football and basketball for Franklin High School.

After graduating, he went west, moving to California, where he played for a short time with the American Basketball Association (ABA) and worked for Hughes Aircraft among other jobs. He spent time in Costa Rica and Big Sur which led to his move to the Applegate Valley in the early 1970s. Bro was one of the early members of the Applegate Christian Fellowship and was the janitor for a number of years. This led to forming his own business, Bro's Glass Cleaning. He enjoyed cleaning windows for many customers over the years. He became very good friends with his customers and greatly missed them as he retired due to advancing dementia.

He loved his family and friends; riding his ATV; driving his Z car (being a member of the Z Club of Southern Oregon); the Applegate Valley; and his mountain home. Even though he could be tough, he had a big heart little kids and animals especially loved him. We know he now is at peace in his final home.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters, Dawn Mumblo of Modesto, Calif., Tyler Hickman, of Sparta, Mich.; step-daughter Marcella (Brian) Setness, of Haymarket, Va.; five grandchildren, Nick, Madison, Garrison, Mason, and Rylie; one great-grandson, Jasper (onthe-way); sister, Jane (Hank) Hansen, of Laconia, N.H.; #1 niece, Deb (Kevin) Sturgeon, of Northfield, NH; many nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Richard; and sister, Sandra (both within the past 7 months).

A memorial will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Cantrall-Buckley Park, Group A ($4 parking fee), Ruch, Ore.
