Mavs rally to complete Area 4 sweep of GP

Christian Gillis allowed one earned run in a complete-game victory in the opener and had a single to help North Medford rally from a 5-0, sixth-inning deficit in the nightcap as the Mavericks swept the Grants Pass Diggers in an Area 4 doubleheader Tuesday at North Medford High.

North Medford won the first game 7-2 and the second game 6-5.

Gillis, who improved to 3-0 on the mound, struck out eight, walked one and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored in the first game.
