Turner and Moore met in 2011 on a blind date and formed the band shortly after. The couple filled out the lineup with pedal-steel guitarist Aaron Alkire, electric guitarist Jeremy Hickman and drummer Mike O'Donnell.
While the band's instrumentation lends itself to twangy '40s- and '50s-style country, its songwriting has more contemporary themes, Moore says.
Four of its original songs are available for download at www.turnermooreband.com.
Cover to the shows at Alex's is $5. Guitarist Justin Wismar will open the show on Friday. Call 541-482-8818 for more information.
