  • Corey O'Neill, a 2004 graduate of South Medford High School, has graduated from the University of Western States with a doctorate in chiropractic and Master of Science degree in exercise and sports science.
    O'Neill, who graduated with summa cum laude and valedictorian honors, was selected as student speaker for the school's June 21 commencement ceremony.
    Joseph Brimhall, president of Western States, said O'Neill was selected for demonstrating "outstanding leadership and service to the university by being a student mentor and advocate, tutoring students, being a student worker in the clinic (and) volunteering at campus events."
    O'Neill plans to practice in the Medford area.
