Justin Jacome of the Medford Rogues was named co-player of the week in the West Coast League Monday.
The left-handed Jacome, who plays collegiately for UC Santa Barbara, shared the award with Cody Poteet of Walla Walla, who plays for national champion UCLA.
Both were stellar on Friday.
Jacome shut down the South-leading Bend Elks at Harry & David Field, tossing eight scoreless innings while allowing six hits, walking none and striking out seven in a 2-0 win.
He has made three appearances and two starts this summer and has yet to allow a run over 14 1/3 innings. He's struck out 14 while going 1-0 with a save.
At UC Santa Barbara this past spring, Jacome made 14 starts, logged 83 1/3 innings and went 5-4 with a 3.78 ERA.
Poteet struck out 11 and tossed seven scoreless innings against Klamath Falls, which leads the WCL in hitting with a .290 average, in a 5-0 win.
It was Poteet's first appearance and start of the summer.
