Ruby Rosetta Robinson, 84, passed away peacefully at her Napa, Calif. home early Saturday morning, July 6, 2013. Ruby lived in Central Point, Ore. for 37 years but spent the last year and a half of her life living in Napa with her son, Bill Young, and his wife, Susie.
She was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. December 30, 1928 to Tom H. Hinton and Frances Prici (Blankinship) Hinton. Frances remarried Ray D. Cain when Ruby was very young. He raised her as his own. She loved him dearly and always referred to him as her Papa.
Ruby first married Carter Young. They had two children a son, William (Bill) Young, who resides in Napa, and a daughter, Carlene Young Wilson, who predeceased her in death in 1998.
She met the love of her life, James W. Robinson, and they were married for 41 years until his death in 1999. When she spoke of Jim, who always called her his doll, she loved to share that they never had an argument in 41 years. They have one daughter, Lori Ann, who resides in Medford, Ore.
Ruby is survived by her son, Bill Young, daughter-in-law, Susie; daughter, Lori Ann Green; step-grandson, Justin Metcalfe, his daughter, Addison; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one newborn great-great-granddaughter, whom she unfortunately did not have time to meet.
Ruby was a sweet, loving, kind, and gentle soul. She showed love and tenderness to everyone who had the privilege of spending time with her. She is and will be missed by all of her friends and family.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore. Please share condolences online at treadwaywigger.com
