George V. Carnes, 81, of Medford, Ore. passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home. He was born February 7, 1932, in Blythe, Calif.
George was a longtime Medford resident and was employed as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed going to auctions and rebuilding cars. He was an active member of Living Praise Church in Central Point, Ore., and a licensed minister as well.
George is survived by his wife, Margaret Smith-Carnes; son, Vincent Carnes, of Ashland, Ore.; stepsons, Gary, Jay, and Doug Smith; daughter, Jeannie Carnes Chapman, of Eugene, Ore.; stepdaughter, Sandra Binau; brother, Howard Carnes, of Rogue River, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Carnes; and daughter, Deborah Annette.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Living Praise, 115 Gibbon Rd., Central Point, Ore. Rev. Lyle King will officiate. Final resting place will be Scenic Hills Memorial Park in Ashland, Ore.
