Seven Renegades players net all-league football honor

Southern Oregon Renegades placekicker Jason McGregor earned the lone first-team nod for his team in the recent release of the 2013 all-Pacific Football League selections.

McGregor, who was a standout at Southern Oregon University, was also named to the second team as a punter.

Also earning second-team acclaim for the South Division Renegades were quarterback Anthony Gonzales, fullback Alvin Thornton, offensive lineman Jesse Cushman, safety Ben Sharp, cornerback Robert Woods and utility player Leon Ireland.

PFL player of the year went to Marshall Lobbestael of the Yakima Mavericks, while Ben Jensen of the Springfield Buzzards was the defensive MVP and Leo Dickerson of the Seattle Stallions was the offensive MVP. Special teams MVP went to Alex Mahre of Yakima.

The 3-7 Renegades next play in Cottage Grove at 6 p.m. Saturday against the Springfield Buzzards (5-5) in one of four PFL playoff games.
