If you've ever dreamed of being immortalized in a painting, Art for SART can make it happen.

On Sunday, July 14, people attending the second annual art-inspired benefit, held this year at RoxyAnn Winery in Medford, can bid to be included in an old Hollywood-themed painting.

If you go

What: Art for SART: Vintage Hollywood

When: 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14

Where: RoxyAnn Winery, 3285 Hillcrest Road, Medford

Tickets: $25-$60

See: www.artforsart.org or call 541-840-0904

Winning bidders will be dressed as Groucho Marx, Lana Turner and other famous Hollywood stars. They will make a red-carpet entrance and then be posed as if at a film premiere by Talent artist Inger Jorgensen.

When she calls out to them to freeze against a painted backdrop, they will look like a two-dimensional recreation of the scene.

Tableau Vivant, as the technique is called, was made famous by the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, Calif.

Others can support the Jackson County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) by attending the entertainment-packed event at 3285 Hillcrest Road in Medford, and bidding on bottles of local wine from Cliff Creek Cellars, Dancin' Vineyards, Del Rio Vineyards, Schmidt Family Vineyard, South Stage Cellars,Weisinger's of Ashland, Wooldridge Creek Winery and more.

Tickets are available at www.artforsart.org. A $60 ticket includes entrance, wine and dinner catered by Melissa Jones-Hanscom of Figgy's Food.

A limited number of $25 tickets grant event entry only.

Beginning at 5 p.m., participants can wander the vineyard- and grass-covered grounds of RoxyAnn Winery and encounter activities to evoke the glamour and excitement of Hollywood's golden era, says event organizer Greg Frederick of Medford.

There will be paparazzi, sketch artists and an artists' colony, where sculptor Kevin Christman of Talent, Ashland Art Center painter Sarah Burns, Ashland mixed-media artist Joe Romano and others will be creating on-the-spot artwork.

SART supporters can also bid to take part in screen tests for "Casablanca," "The Wizard of Oz" and other film classics. They can mingle with actors posing as film stars near classic cars or dance to the Southern Oregon Jazz Orchestra in a setting duplicating the famous Cocoanut Grove nightclub in Los Angeles.

SART, which provides free services for victims of sexual assault, will also raise money by auctioning off bottles of wine from RoxyAnn Winery and other local producers.

Participants are encouraged to wear 1940s attire. If nothing works from the closet, Wanda Pepin of Vintage Fashion and Art (541-261-9794) has classic dresses for rent, as does Renaissance Rose in Ashland (541-488-0119).

Proceeds will allow SART to provide care to assault victims and offer sexual violence prevention programs at schools.

Last year, Merry Vediner of Ashland was gifted with a place in the tableau for her 60th birthday. She wore a white flapper dress for the Bohemian Paris-themed painting.

"It was a blast," said Vediner, who received a print of the recreation.

"You are treated like a supermodel while helping to raise money for a great cause."
