  • Medford Rotary scholarships to 14 graduates

    Recipients this year are Lauren Allen from Eagle Point High School, Molly Cheyne and Eduardo Arevalo from Phoenix High School, Sara Davis from Crater High School, Alondra Esquivel, Shamus Murray and Monica Camargo from South Medford High School and Crystal Bates, Zachary Ward, Hector Zaragoza, Tapu Williams, Amanda Murray, Della Delaney and Spencer Funk from North Medford High School.
    With the awarding of the new scholarships, the Medford Rogue Rotary Foundation has given out more than $1.2 million in scholarships to more than 300 local students.
    The foundation, which began with a base of $2,000 in 1983, now has an endowment of more than $3 million.
    The foundation's scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors from high schools in Jackson County, with most renewable for up to four years. The foundation's endowment is administered by the Oregon Community Foundation.
