  • Robert Hawkins passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 in Medford, Ore. A military memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
    Robert was born April 5, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wis. to William Henry Hawkins and Lillian Ann Louise Klug. He served in the United States Army from June, 1943 until November, 1945 in Europe. Robert worked as an automotive specialist at Crater Lake Ford Motors in Medford, Ore. until he retired in the late '80s.
    He was a member of the Jacksonville Masonic Lodge, Medford Shriners, EAA, Medford Train Park, Medford Model Airplanes (founding member), the Upper Rogue Community Center, Shady Cove Trail Wildflower Association, and the Trail Museum. Robert enjoyed model trains and airplanes, photography, fishing, carpentry, and traveling the state of Oregon.
    Robert is survived by Jim Hawkins of Grants Pass, Ore.; David Hawkins of Medford, Ore.; Susan Marquess of Talent, Ore.; Pat White of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Ethel Milbrath of Milwaukee, Wis.; stepchildren, Johanna Brewer of Eagle Point, Ore. and Joe Johnson of Medford, Ore.; and wife, Daryl Joanne (Dee) Hawkins of Shady Cove, Ore. He had five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcene Hawkins; sisters, Florence Irene Gatz and Phyllis Mae Humsik; and brother, Charles Allen Hawkins.
