BROOKINGS — The Port of Brookings-Harbor will host the 21st annual Southern Oregon Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21.
An invitational festival, it attracts national and international kite flyers and kite makers to Brookings, where more than 30 kite flyers will entertain spectators with routines choreographed to music.
Activities include free children's kite-building workshops from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days. There will be a vendor area with a variety of food and arts and crafts for sale. A pancake breakfast sponsored by the Harbor Fire Volunteers will be held Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon.
Visitors are encouraged to park next to the Chamber of Commerce building at the port and take the free shuttle to the kite field.
There is no charge to visit the festival.
