Steven G. Trautman, 61, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at his home. He was born to Herbert & Joanne Trautman April 2, 1952 in Medford, Ore.
After high school, Steve married Lucille Piggott, they were married for 42 years. They went on to have two children, Steven J. (Cara) Trautman and Stacy Hoppes; and seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Skotlan, Samuel, Abbygail, Monika, Toby Jr., and Trevor, all of whom he is survived by. He is also survived by his sisters, Ginger, Janet, Julie, and Cathy; and brother, Ronnie.
Steven was a 1970 graduate of Crater High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, his family, and traveling.
He lived, loved, and fought hard all the days of his life. He was known as "BIG" Steve for his big heart. He impacted each and every person he came in contact with, whether it was by lending a helping hand, a listening ear, or shoulder to lean on, but mostly willing to be an encourager and was always a positive person, giving hope to more people than we will ever know. He left a legacy that will live on for years.
Thank you God for blessing us with this amazing man we called husband, dad, brother, uncle, and son, and for the short time we had with him on earth. We have all been short-changed by the loss of his life.
He was a hero, a mentor, and counselor to his children, grandchildren, wife, and others who knew him.
There will be a celebration of Steve's life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Joy Christian Fellowship, 2715 Table Rock Rd., Medford.
If only we had more "Big Steves" in this world, it would be a much better place to live!
