Rogues' Casper garners award

The Medford Rogues' Jerad Casper was named West Coast League player of the week on Monday.

Casper, who plays for Oregon State, went 12-for-26 with three doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs for the red-hot Rogues (20-19) who have won six straight games and are only four behind South Division-leading Bend (23-14).

Medford swept home series versus Victoria and Klamath Falls, and went 6-1 for the week.

Casper was a late pick to represent the Rogues in today's WCL All-Star Game at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, B.C., Canada.

For the summer, Casper is hitting .305 with four doubles, three home runs and 11 RBIs.
