  • CORVALLIS — The Medford Rogues couldn't get much going against Corvallis on Wednesday night, finishing with just four hits in a 6-1 loss in West Coast League action at Goss Stadium.

  • CORVALLIS — The Medford Rogues couldn't get much going against Corvallis on Wednesday night, finishing with just four hits in a 6-1 loss in West Coast League action at Goss Stadium.
    Bo Cornish finished with a solo home run for the Rogues, who fell behind 3-0 before getting on the scoreboard in the fifth inning.
    Medford (20-20), which had a six-game winning streak snapped, committed four errors.
    Dane Lund went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Knights (22-15).
    In the WCL All-Star game on Tuesday at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, B.C., the South All-Stars — which featured three Rogues players — beat the North team, 7-5.
    Pitcher Brett DeRooy earned the victory after pitching a perfect fifth inning. In one inning of work, he struck out one and did not allow any hits, runs or walks.
    First baseman Kevin Davidson went 1-for-5 with a run scored and shortstop Ray McIntire was 1-for-2.

    NORTH MEDFORD 5-17, GRANTS PASS 4-6 — At Grants Pass, the North Medford Mavericks picked up a pair of wins in Area 4 play.
    In Game 1, Josh Berman's seventh-inning RBI single drove in Christian Gillis and broke a 4-all tie.
    Berman finished 3-for-4 and Dakota Adams 2-for-3.
    Gillis smashed a grand slam in the sixth inning and Jordan Ragan went 3-for-5 with two RBIs in Game 2 for North, which finished with 14 hits. Honus Kindreich and Aaron Scott both had two hits and three RBIs.

    Little League 11-12 State Tournament
    PENDLETON 8, MEDFORD NATIONAL 7, 7 inn. — Medford National jumped out to a 7-0 lead but couldn't hang on during the final day of pool play at Medford National Little League Fields.
    In the bottom of the fifth inning, Pendleton scored seven runs on four hits and a costly error. In the seventh, Pendleton's Blake Davis scored the game-winning run on a bases-loaded walk.
    Cole Boster went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Daniel Shenk 2-for-4 with an RBI and Bennett Smith 2-for-5 with two runs scored for Medford National, which opens single-elimination play against Lake Oswego at 6 p.m. today.
    Also Wednesday, Hermiston defeated Klamath Falls American, 13-2 in four innings.
    In other 6 p.m. games today, Sheldon plays Klamath Falls American, Wilshire-Riverside takes on Sprague and Gresham faces Hermiston.
