Providence Medford Medical Center's Emergency Department has earned the Outstanding Clinical Site Award from Oregon Health & Sciences University for its physician's assistant program. Providence has accepted 46 physician's assistant students since 2005.
Students complete eight five-week rotations, including six required rotations and two electives.
Emergency medicine is one of the required rotations.
The rotations follow a rigorous one-year didactic, or classroom-based, phase.
"Our PA students have told us that Providence Medford is one of their favorite rotations because the clinicians are eager to teach and they truly prepare the students to become better clinicians," OHSU regional coordinator Gina Jones said in a statement.
Springfield-based InnSight HMG, which operates hotel properties in Medford and Central Point, earned multiple honors from Marriott International and Choice Hotels International. The Medford Airport Courtyard by Marriott earned a Gold Award for its outstanding 2012 guest satisfaction surveys.
The Medford SpringHill Suites by Marriott was awarded a Diamond Award and recognized as one of the top hotels in the brand.
The hotel also was chosen as the best of the best with the Hotel of the Year Award.
