  • The Ashland Parks Foundation has raised almost $16,000 to go toward restoring the Butler-Perozzi Fountain in Lithia Park.
The fountain is located across from the park's Butler Bandshell. It was donated by Domingo Perozzi and Gwin Butler in 1916. A. Frilli of Florence, Italy, sculpted the piece.
The fountain's deteriorating stairs, foundation, landscaping, pool, and pedestal all require renovations, adding up to a $500,000 price tag, officials said. Bonds and grant funds will add to the pool of available money.
