  • Howell Clinton Clint Lea
    Howell Clinton Clint Lea, passed away at Linda Vista Care Center Monday, August 12, 2013. Clint was born July 26, 1932 in Portland, Ore. to Elsie Howard Lea and Clinton Wallace Lea.
    He graduated from Grant High School and later graduated from Arizona State University receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in business. Clint served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War. Clint worked in various business endeavors through the years including working for Oroweat Baking Co., San Francisco, Calif., ranching, home construction, real estate, hospital administrator for Josephine Memorial Hospital, Grants Pass, Ore., and in more recent years, he worked as president for Datalex Software, San Francisco, Calif., and then vice president for Phoenix Software International, Los Angeles, Calif.
    Clint is survived by his wife, Lorraine Silvius Lea; four daughters, Kimberly Lea, (Salem, Ore.), Karen (Robert) Abblitt, (Grants Pass, Ore.), Kaurie (Brian) Jones, (Amarillo, Texas), and Kristen (Bill) Schultz, (E. Greenwich, R.I.); and two step-daughters, Wendy Coull, (Grants Pass, Ore.), and Michelle Coull, (Medford, Ore.); his grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Miller (Salem, Ore.), Jordan Niswender (Los Angeles, Calif.), Jeremy Niswender (Portland, Ore.), Bethany, Brittany, Brielle and Brianna Abblitt (Grants Pass, Ore.), Kendall and Kaitlyn Jones (Amarillo, Texas), Connor and Ashleigh Schultz (E. Greenwich, R.I.), and Erin and Corrine Webb (Grants Pass, Ore.) Clint is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Aidyn, Kyler, Ava, Zakary and Beau Miller (Salem, Ore.)
    Clint was predeceased by his parents, Elsie and Clinton, and his siblings, LaVerne Hedrick, Winona Lennox, Howard Lea and Val Dalgren.
    Clint was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He shared his joys with those he loved and bore his sorrows with grace and dignity. His loving and steady presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
    Our family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Linda Vista Care Center and Providence Hospice for their tender care for Clint as his health declined.
    A military honors service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Rd., Eagle Point, OR.
