First Baptist, Phoenix, holds spaghetti feed, youth event

First Baptist Church of Phoenix will hold a free spaghetti dinner at 6 tonight, at the church, 4655 S. Pacific Highway. Following the meal will be a free showing of the Christian film "Jeremiah." Call 541-512-1881 for more information.

First Presbyterian welcomes interim pastor Del McAmis

The Rev. Del McAmis will preside over services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford.

McAmis is a recently retired pastor who last served the Presbyterian Church in Tulelake, Calif. He has earned a divinity degree, a doctorate in jurisprudence and a master's in business. Call 541-779-1711.


Center for Spiritual Living sets study group, kids event

The Rev. Shireen Kaufman will be guest speaker at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Center for Spiritual Living, 3581 Lear Way, Medford. A children's program will be presented during the service, and refreshments will be served.

RVUUF speaker addresses meditation alternatives

Camille Korsmo will speak on "Personal Paths to Tranquility" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland.

Visiting reverend speaks at St. Andrew's Anglican

The Rev. Creighton Barnes of St. Andrew's Anglican Church and the Rev. Outreach ministers to Central Medford students

An offering will be taken for the Youth Street Outreach Program during services at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St.

The team takes turns going to Central Medford High School to hand out food, drinks and winter accessories to homeless and at-risk students. It will also coordinate the distribution of school supplies with the Maslow Project. Call 541-772-8860.


Barbecue, car show held at Church of God Holiness

Church of God Holiness will hold a "Hot August Nights" barbecue and car show beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at 401 Broadway, Rogue River.

Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, and entry is free. A trophy presentation will be at 4 p.m. The barbecue will last until 7 p.m., and the car show will end at 9 p.m. Call 541-582-3841.


Holy Eucharist held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church

Returning from a vacation on Cape Cod, the Rev. Jedediah Holdorph will celebrate Holy Eucharist at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave. Between the two services will be an adult forum at 9:10 a.m. in the parish hall. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
