Kiana Oshiro of Medford placed second in the AJGA Junior All-Star tournament at Centennial Golf Club Thursday.

The 14-year-old, making her debut in American Junior Golf Association play, shot a 1-over-par 73 and finished the 54-hole, stroke-play tournament with a three-day total of 3-under 213.

Anna Zhou, the highest-ranked player in either of the two tournaments at Centennial — the All-Star, for ages 12-15, and the open division, for ages 12-18 — won with a 211. The Palo Alto, Calif., resident shot a final-round 72.

Zhou, 15, is 43rd in the Polo Golf Rankings and recorded her third straight AJGA victory and fourth of the year.

Oshiro, who will be a freshman at North Medford High, recorded career lows the first two days, shooting 71, then 69. Her consistent play over three days enabled her to finish six shots clear of three players who tied for third.

Oshiro began the day one back, but tied for the lead when she birdied No. 5. She moved in front by a stroke when Zhou bogeyed No. 7, but a double-bogey 7 on the ninth hole dropped the local girl back.

Birdies at Nos. 14 and 15 pulled Oshiro even with Zhou, but the latter birdied No. 16 to reclaim the lead.

Both parred the 17th, then Oshiro made bogey on the 18th when she caught her approach shot to the green heavy and it found a greenside bunker. Zhou made par.

Central Point's Daniele Giles tied for 10th. She shot 75 in Round 3 and was at 223 for the tourney.

In the Boys Division, Harrison Ott, of Brookfield, Wis., held on for a two-shot win over Anton Serafini, of Lake Mary, Fla., who blistered the course for a final-round 64, coming up one stroke shy.

Ott had a 69 for a 13-under 203.

Three Medford boys were in the field. Joshua Wu shot 71 and tied for 19th, Reese Fisher had a 77 and tied for 29th and Jeremy Wu recorded a 72 and tied for 31st.
