With the fall high school sports season around the corner, football season tickets are or will be on sale to the general public at Southwest Conference schools Crater, North Medford and South Medford.
Tickets for South Medford and North Medford will be up for sale online.
South Medford tickets are available today at www.southmedfordtickets.com. They also can be purchased at the school activities office from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
North Medford tickets go on sale Aug. 23 at www.northmedfordtickets.com. They also are available at the athletics office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
At Crater, previous ticket holders can buy theirs now at the school athletics office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They go on sale to the public Aug. 26.
Fall sports practice begins Monday. The first football games are Aug. 30.
Three local karate competitors — Shantell Dawson, Riley Hackett and Jordan Frost — have been successful in some national tournaments recently.
Dawson picked up a first place in Korean forms and a third in Japanese forms in the adult black belt division at the Sin City Nationals in Las Vegas, Aug. 8-9.
Dawson registered three first places at the International Training Convention World Championships July 20-21 in Las Vegas, and was named overall tournament forms grand champion at the Battle of Champions in El Paso, Texas, July 8-9
Jordan Frost was first in traditional weapons, second in Korean forms and third in Japanese forms in the 16-17-year-old black belt division at the Sin City Nationals. Additionally, Frost placed third in Japanese forms and traditional weapons and fourth in Korean forms at the El Paso event.
Hackett, competing in the 16-17 black belt class, was second in fighting and continuous fighting at the Sin City Nationals. Hackett added a first and second at the International Training Convention World Championships and a second in fighting I at the Battle of the Champions.
Caddies and spotters will be needed for the Southern Oregon Golf Championships later this month.
Caddie school is at 9 a.m. Aug. 24 at Rogue Valley Country Club. Caddies must be at least 10 years old and be able to carry a golf bag.
Spotters will be paid and must be available Aug. 27 to Sept. 2.
