  • Firefighters continue progress on fires

  • The Douglas Complex, burning about seven miles north of Glendale in Douglas and Josephine counties, was 72 percent contained Saturday and had burned 46,932 acres, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.

  • The Douglas Complex, burning about seven miles north of Glendale in Douglas and Josephine counties, was 72 percent contained Saturday and had burned 46,932 acres, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.
    The Big Windy Complex, eight miles northwest of Galice, was at 16,496 acres and listed at 20 percent containment.
    A community meeting will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Galice Community Hall, 10821 Galice Road, fire officials said.
    Members of Pacific Northwest Team 3 will provide an overview of the fire and discuss actions they plan to take. The public is invited to attend.
    The Labrador fire, burning on the Rogue-Siskiyou National Forest near the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area, was holding Saturday at 2,023 acres and was still at zero-percent containment.
    The Whiskey Complex, six miles east of Tiller on the Tiller Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest, was at 12,406 acres and 65 percent contained.
