Thomas "Tomm" Nuelle, 77, passed away Friday August 16, 2013. Tomm was born in St. Louis, Mo., to Eugene and Sophia Nuelle. Tomm is survived by his wife of 44 years, Fran; sons, Jeff and John, and five grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Norman, John, and sister Joan.
Tomm had an openness to learning that he pursued with great gusto. In his early years Tomm studied in New York and overseas in Italy and France. Thereafter, he taught college in Massachusetts and California. Tomm moved to Upland, Calif., in 1975 where he and his wife raised their two sons. Tomm wokred as a Probation Officer in Los Angeles County and later as a Pretrial Services officer for the U.S. District Court, Central District. Upon his retirement in 2000, Tomm was Chief of Pretrial Services.
After retiring, Tomm and Fran moved to the Rogue Valley which they fell in love with years before. Tomm spent his retirement pursuing his loves of golfing, fishing, photography and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Tomm was active in his church and community and always anxious to help others. Tomm and Fran were instrumental in the marriage preparation and enrichment programs though their church for 34 years.
Tomm's final wish was to see his beloved Dodgers win the World Series one more time. Go Dodgers!
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Shepard of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a contribution be made to charity.
