  • Dona Morse Mecham , 85, of Talent Ore., passed away in her sleep and went to Heaven Sunday, August 11, 2013.
    She was born in San Diego, Calif., April 11, 1928 to George and Vivian Morse. She was blessed with a loving stepfather, Milo Fetter, Talent, Ore.
    She married David Henderson from San Diego, Calif. in 1947. They had two daughters, Jacque Talbert of Bend, Ore. and Jeri Barnes of Jefferson, Ore. She remarried in 1954 to C.H. (Les) Mecham, retired Naval veteran, State of Oregon Department Motor Vehicles retired, PER, PDD of the Ashland Elks. They had a daughter and son, Cheryl Mecham Crane of Redmond, Ore. and Michael R. Mecham of Talent, Ore.
    Les and Dona celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2009.
    She retired from Harry and David, was a Lady of the Elk, Ashland Elks. She enjoyed spending her winters in Texas with Les, the love of her life, and many special snowbird friends. She spent weekdays walking in the Mall with her friends and will be missed by her friends at Barnett Woods.
    She was the grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 32.
    She is survived by her younger brother, Ray Morse of Lake Almanor, Calif.
    A private memorial service will be held to spread her ashes with the family Saturday, August 31, 2013.
