  • Barney and Betty Deffley of Medford celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception held at Betty's sister's home at Twin Creeks prior to a family dinner.
They were married on July 22, 1943, in Colome, S.D. They had two children, Dick, now deceased (wife Rhonda), and Darla Hubler (husband Daryl) of Eugene, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They came to Medford in 1946. In 1950, Barney began working for the City of Medford, where he retired after working 30-plus years. Betty occasionally worked part time at Harry and David, and was the primary homemaker.
Both were avid sports fans and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
