  • An automobile owned by A.B. Drury and a motorcycle ridden by Ed Loomis collided at Oakdale and Eleventh streets this noon resulting in a slightly injured ankle for Loomis and a broken fender for the auto.
    According to eye witnesses, Drury was making a wide turn at the street intersection when Loomis, coming at a good clip, struck the machine. He was unable to avoid the accident.

    The last week before the good roads bond election, a week from Tuesday (Sept. 9, 1913), will be marked by an active campaign in practically every district, with meetings every night this week in the population centers.
    The first meeting this week will be held at Phoenix tonight with Messrs. Boos, Mulkey and Gore as the speakers.
    The next meeting will be held at Talent Tuesday night with addresses by Dr. Bagley and Attorney B.F. Mulkey and several others.
    William G. Gore, Dr. Bagley and County Commissioner Leever will speak at Eagle Point, and the same two will address a meeting at Jacksonville Friday.
    The meetings of the week will close Saturday at Central Point with good roads talks by Attorney B.F. Mulkey and Judge Colvig.
