Williamson owns Day 1 at Lon Skinner Memorial

WHITE CITY — On the opening day of the Lon Skinner Memorial at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday, it didn't take long for Jesse Williamson to distance himself from the pack and win the main event.

Williamson took the lead after the sixth lap and steadily increased his margin into a half-track advantage.

A yellow flag at the 22nd lap tightened the group, but Williamson was able to regain a significant lead.

The top 14 in points qualified for the event's finale and a shot at the $3,000 purse on Sunday.
