Jeff Havener has been named to a newly created position by Bank of the Cascades in Medford, senior vice president and mortgage regional sales manager. He will oversee the bank's mortgage loan officers in Southern Oregon, northwest Oregon and Idaho.

Havener has nearly 25 years of banking and mortgage expertise in the Pacific Northwest.

He most recently served as vice president of consumer lending and credit for PremierWest Bank in Medford.


Bruce Laird, a former technology recruitment officer for the Oregon Business Development Department, has joined the Sustainable Valley Technology Group board of directors.

He was the state's leading business recruitment officer specializing in large, complex, mid- and high-cap business expansion and recruitment projects. At the time of his retirement, Laird led the state's key industry initiative for technology accounts, focusing on the growth and recruitment of biotechnology, clean technology and semiconductor manufacturing companies. Laird also directed the state's Foreign Direct Investment initiative, adding 12 new investments from Japan alone in 2012.

Laird was recognized as the Sustainable Business Leader of the year in 2012 by the Oregon Business Journal and was recognized as the 2011 Oregon Economic Development Association's Economic Development Leader of the Year. Before joining state government, Laird was vice president and marketing director for Western Bank.

He was a three-term International Port of Coos Bay commissioner, serving as president and treasurer. Laird received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and completed international business certification at the University of Pavia in Italy.


Umpqua Bank has hired Tamra Hollingsworth as a loan officer for its Home Lending Division in Southern Oregon. Hollingsworth has been a loan officer in Jackson County for the past seven years.

Previously, Hollingsworth was a mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, a loan officer with Chase Bank, and a senior account executive with Beneficial Financial Group. Before that she was sales representative for Sprint. She is active in Junior Achievement and an affiliate member of the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors. She is based at Umpqua's 250 N. Pioneer St. office in Ashland.


SkyOak Wealth Management has announced a partnership with Tracy Ronningen as director of self-directed IRA services and financial adviser. Ronningen primarily serves clients in Medford, Bend and Klamath Falls, with clients throughout the Northwest.

A financial professional since 1980, Ronningen formerly was with South Valley Bank and Trust as vice president, where he created and opened the institution's Financial Services and Trust department.

Ronningen earned an associate degree in accounting from Oregon Tech and attended the American Bankers Association's Trust Graduate School in Evanston, Ill.
