Klabunde falls in Senior Am

POWELL BUTTE — Medford golfer Kevin Klabunde's championship bid in the 30th Oregon Senior Amateur fell short Friday at Brasada Ranch Resort.

Scott Hval, of Portland, built a 4-up lead through five holes and cruised to his third straight championship.

Klabunde bogeyed three of the first five holes, while Hval played that stretch in 2 under par.

After nine holes, Hval was 5 up. Klabunde won the next two holes with birdies, but two subsequent bogeys sealed his fate.
